Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #662

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  There is a chinook blowing through so it's been quite lovely temperature wise - not so nice are the accompanying chinook headaches that most of us get.  I will put up with the headaches to have some beautiful weather!!!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Jennifer Timko!  Jen is such an amazing card designer and a talented airline pilot!  She's also one of our fearless leaders and we're so thankful for her and all she does for our challenge!  Please head over to her blog and give her some love!

I don't usually do too well with large open spaces BUT I am in desperate need of Christmas cards so I figured I'd throw some poinsettias on this one and call it a day!  I opted for an all white background but think I might make another one with a black background!  I started with silver centres for my poinsettias but then went with copper foil!  I wanted to be different!  I threw on some copper jewels and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Copper Foil (SU)
Stamps: Star of Light (SU)
Ink: Detail Black (PinkFresh Studios)
Dies: Poinsettia Dies (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
We hope you'll enter in our challenge this week!  You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered on the Freshly Made Sketches blog!  If you need some inspiration, head over to the blog and check it out!

We hit up a fantastic Christmas market on the weekend and then did a little hike.  The hike was fantastic even though the views were non-existent.  It was just so nice to get out after a few weeks of not hiking!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #565

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We are in some weird weather right now. It was -23 (feeling like -33) Celsius yesterday and it's supposed to go up to 0 today.  Plus it's snowing.  Until we moved out here I'd never really seen it snow when it was so cold. Gotta love winter in the mountains!

We've got a fantastic new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess this week is our favourite New Zealander Karren Johnson!  Karren's cards are always gorgeous and she sure has a way with colouring!!!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I really love poinsettia's but can't have them anymore because I our one cat would totally eat it!  She LOVES plants! I will use them on my cards and pretend their plants in our house!  I pulled out some retired DSP and went to work!  No foiling on this card!  I am still waiting on some plates to arrive so I'm limited in what I can use right now!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Real Red, Basic Black, Silver Foil
DSP: Heartwarming Hugs (SU)
Stamps: Petite Pairs (SU)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Poinsettia Dies (SU), Subtle Texture Embossing Folder (SU), Stitched So Sweetly Dies (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  The Design Team has created some beautiful cards for you so hopefully you'll find some inspiration!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #563

Hello! Happy Wednesday!  Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! I hope all have an amazing weekend celebrating!  Are you ready for Black Friday?  I am going to try and get most of my shopping done before the weekend and I'm hoping I've made my last trip to a mall!  I am not a big fan of crowds of people so I will avoid all stores this weekend!

We've got a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  I am fortunate to be your hostess this week!  I do love when you get to go through each card and comment!  I love to see all the different takes and I love getting to know you better - especially when you post pics of your fur babies!

I of course am still trying to get some Christmas cards done and really love playing with my hot foil machine.  My issue is that I only have a couple of plates and the ones I ordered didn't quite make it for some reason.  Don't ask.  I saw a Christmas card recently that had a wreath on it made of different foliage (this was a Hallmark card - not a handmade one) but I knew I could use that idea for my card!  I made a silver circle using the hot foil machine.  It doesn't show up too great in the picture though.  I added some foliage and a baby poinsettia and I was off to the races!  I threw on the same sentiment I used last week because that silver looks so pretty on the dark green!

Supplies
Cardstock: Hammermill White, Shaded Spruce, Soft Succulent, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red
Other: Silver Foil (Spellbinders), Nested Circles (Pink Fresh), Christmas Mailbox Greetings (Spellbinders), Poinsettia Dies (SU), Pretty Pine Thinlits (SU), Basic Rhinestones (SU), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  The Design Team has some amazing cards posted that you'll love!

We definitely can't wait to see what you create this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #561

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm bringing you this card from the North Pole - or so it feels like! We've had a pile of snow and it's been crazy cold!  The overnight temperature was -28 feeling like -36!  Oh so fun!  Today is supposed to be the last day of the crazy cold though.  Hopefully it's warmed up a bit by tomorrow!  This cold, snowy weather seems so early but it does get you in the Christmas mood!

We've got a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Linda Callahan!  Linda's cards are always fabulous so you need to head over to her blog and check them out!

I am in desperate need of Christmas cards so I knew I needed to knock another one off the list!  I hauled out my Poinsettia Dies and some older Christmas DSP and went to town!  I added in some bits and bobs (as my friend Donna would say) from other die sets and voila!  A Christmas card is born!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Real Red, Garden Green, Silver
DSP: Painted Christmas (SU)
Stamps: Happy Scenes (SU)
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Other: Blending Brushes (Taylored Expressions), Poinsettia Dies (SU), Stitched So Sweetly Dies (SU), Pretty Pines (SU), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We love seeing all the different cards you create!  The Design Team has also come up with some amazing cards to inspire you!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #560

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We are currently getting hit with a snowstorm and some much cooler temperatures BUT we had a beautiful fall so I guess I can't really complain.  I'd say the snow is pretty but it's not.  It's just cold and wet and miserable!!!  I put the fall decorations out but will wait until after Remembrance day to get out anything remotely Christmas related!

We have a fantastic new sketch up at Freshly Made Sketches!  After a bit of a break I'm happy to get back into the swing of things!  Our hostess this week is the Queen of Clean cards herself - Jen Mitchell!  If you want to see what I mean, head over to her blog and check them out!

Jen's sketch threw me at first because of that glaring circle sitting in the middle but I might have received some funds to put towards a new Glimmer Hot Foil machine and I also grabbed some hot foil plates that would work perfectly for this card!  The hot foil can be a bit persnickety (okay - it can be a lot persnickety) but it cooperated for me on this card.  I probably couldn't recreate it even if I tried!

Supplies:
Cardstock: White (Hammermill Cover Stock), Basic Black
Other: Gold Foil (Spellbinders), Twilight Sparkle Strip (Spellbiners), Christmas Mailbox Greetings,  (Spellbinders), Poinsettia Dies (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  The Design Team has posted some amazing cards to get those creative juices flowing!

I hope you have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #512

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  How are we more than halfway through November?  How is your Christmas shopping going?  I'm at a complete loss this year.  My kids don't really want anything this year.  It's so weird.  I feel so behind.  I am giving myself a week to get my act together!!  We shall see!

We have a fantastic new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous and fellow mountain dweller, Kim Singdahlsen! Kim's cards are always amazing so you'll want to head over to her blog to check them out!

So I had a vision of what I wanted to do.  It was spectacular in my mind but I could not get it to work.  Sadly.  Sometimes the mojo just isn't flowing!  I need to get some Christmas cards done and this was the perfect time to tackle that job!

I do love the poinsettia dies and opted just to use the smallest one to create my poinsettia!  I paired it with the Painted Christmas paper and some glimmer paper I had left in my stash!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Real Red, Silver Glimmer, Silver Foil
DSP: Painted Christmas
Stamps: Star of Light
Ink: Black
Other: Poinsettia Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches page and check out the cards created by the Design Team!  You won't be disappointed!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #506

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a great start to your week so far!  I am loving the slightly warmer weather we've been having.  The larch trees are just gorgeous right now.  The bright yellow paints the landscape a beautiful gold.  We're heading for another hike on Friday.  It's going to be the toughest one yet!  Part of me is scared and part of me is so excited I can't wait.  The view from the "top" is going to be amazing!  Except we won't make it to the top because this is one high mountain!!!

We've got a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for you!  Our hostess this week is one of my favourite Texans and a colour matching expert - Amy O'Neill!  She has a great new sketch for us but I'm thinking the design team has it out for me because we've seen a lot of circles lately!!

So I actually knew right away what I wanted to do with this card.  I need to get a handle on some Christmas cards and decided last year's poinsettia die from SU would be perfect for that circle!  I used some of the Peaceful Prints DSP for my strips!  I love a good red and black buffalo check!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Real Red, Silver Foil
DSP: Peaceful Prints
Stamps: Arrange a Wreath
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Poinsettia Dies, Subtle Shimmer Sequins, Dimensionals

I hope you'll take some time and head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards!  I know you'll be inspired to join our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #502

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a good week so far!  If you're in Canada, your kids might have just started back at school after a year of disruptions and virtual learning.  My boys are in brand new schools this year and their first day was yesterday.  I think it might have been harder on me than them.  A whole series of "what if's" went through my head all day.  School can be so hard for some.  I do hope they have a great year!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I have the honour of being this week's hostess!  I went with a pretty basic sketch!  I really am not all that creative!  I do hope you'll play along with us this week!

So I originally wanted a fall card.  I love fall and wanted to use some of my new leaf dies but I just couldn't make it work.  Let's just say I'm in a bit of a slump!  I opted for Christmas since I need to get my act together!  It is soon going to be Christmas!  Can you believe it?!

My poinsettia dies are going to be some of the most used dies I have!  I just love them!  The Peaceful Prints DSP has the most gorgeous red plaid paper that I couldn't resist using!  It's just gorgeous!  Red might just be one of my favourite colours!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Silver Foil
DSP: Peaceful Prints
Stamps: Poinsettia Petals
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Poinsettia Dies, Banner Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the card the Design Team have created!  I also hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #460

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I guess if you live in the US (or anywhere in the world) you might still be waiting for the results of yesterday's election!  I do hope that regardless of who wins or who doesn't that there aren't any riots or unrest.

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of our giraffe loving Judy Rozema! Judy's cards are always gorgeous!  She's so talented!  Head on over to her blog to check them out!

When I saw the sketch I was a bit stumped.  I must admit I left making this card a little late!  I felt the pressure to get it done and I'm not overly thrilled with the final creation!  Needless to say I know I need more Christmas cards so that's where I started.  I might have experiments with different paper and a different green for the holly leaves but this is what I settled on.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Red Foil, Green Foil

DSP: Tis The Season

Stamps: Star of Light

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Banners Framelits Dies, Poinsettia Dies, Sequins, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join our challenge this week!  Head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards my team members have created!  You won't be disappointed!

Have an amazing day!
