Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #175

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I am so glad it's Wednesday.  We are in week 2 or 3 of some very cold, bitter weather.  As a Canadian, you would think I would be use to this weather but I'm not.  I could totally be happy without having this extreme cold.  We are looking forward to some more spring like weather starting next week!  Hopefully it doesn't decide to go somewhere else instead!

I have the great honour of being the hostess this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  You would not believe how stressful it is to come up with a sketch.  I wanted a sketch that was very clean and simple.  No circles!  Not a one!

I decided I would make a card with no stamps!  It was really fun.  I was excited to use my thinlits dies on this card!  As you can see I totally glued the Hello on crooked.  Of course I didn't notice it until I uploaded the photo.  I have a very crooked eye!  I will just say that it add character!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Whisper White
DSP: Quatrefancy Specialty (Retired)
Other: Hello You Thinlits Die, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Silver Satin Ribbon, Dimenionals

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Please make sure you check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the fabulous card the design team has created for you.    I look forward to seeing what you come up with this week!  It's always so fun to see how many different cards can be created from one sketch!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #174

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We are still in a deep freeze in Southern Ontario though I must admit that yesterday wasn't too bad and today is supposed to be similar and then we plunge back into some mighty cold temperatures!  I guess it could be worse and we could be experiencing the deep snow that the East Coast is getting nailed with....Sorry Jen and Linda!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the super creative Cindy Lovell!  Cindy's cards are so amazing and you need to check out her blog if you haven't been there before.  You will discover a world of beautiful things!

This sketch has another giant circle on it.  I seriously think these ladies are trying to do me in!!!  I was staring at the circle and decided that a beautiful spring wreath would work wonderfully for a circle!  The background and diagonal stripe took a little work to get them so that I was happy but the card didn't take as long as they usually do!  I think I should whip up a few more while I'm on a roll!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper white, Wild Wasabi
Stamps: Crazy for You, Wondrous Wreath, Pictogram Punches
Ink: Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green
Other: Itty Bitty Accents Punch, Wondrous Wreath Framelits Die, Basic Rhinestones, Strawberry Slush Thick Bakers Twine,  Modern Mosaic Textured Embossing Folder

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!  You will not be disappointed!

Have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Hello!

Hello!
Happy Tuesday!  I don't normally get to post on a Tuesday afternoon!  It's been a very chilly start to the week.  We celebrated Family Day here in Ontario yesterday and were able to go skating together - thankfully indoors!  It was so fun to see the kids skate around and remember that even last year Jake had trouble skating on his own.  This year he whipped around like no one's business!  They are growing far too fast!

I have missed making cards for challenges and had a few minutes this afternoon to make a card.  I can honestly say that cards don't usually come together quickly but I knew when I looked at the sketch from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge exactly what I wanted to make!  This is a very rare occurrence...trust me!

I love butterflies and I think I could put them on every card I make!  I tried making tho scare with sequins (and I do love sequins) but there was just something about it I didn't like.  I decided this one could just be plain.    I like simple...a lot!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti),  Dot Spot (PTI)
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Basic Black
Other: Daffodil Delight Blendabilities,  Elegant Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!
I will be back tomorrow with this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #173

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We had a beautiful day here yesterday.  The weather was just gorgeous - well, winter gorgeous!  I love that the ice and snow is melting off the driveway!

Wednesday's mean a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our fabulous hostess this week is Kim Singdahlsen from Joyful Creations!  I love the story behind how Kim came up with her blog name!  You should head over to her blog to check it out!
This week's sketch is a bit of an eye teaser!  The sketch looks a bit crooked but the middle two rectangles are the only ones on an angle.  Makes me a bit dizzy!  Super fun to work with though.

Of course I had in mind that this card needed to be for a specific someone and got stumped.  Then (after Narelle reminded me sometimes we need to give up that idea) I decided to just make a card and it all came together quite quickly.  I'm so thankful we have such wise people on our Design Team!

I used my new stitched star dies from My Favorite Things.  I really do love little stars!  They have the faux stitching but I thought they needed a little something else and added the bling!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
DSP: Perfect Polka Dot
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Basic Rhinestones,  Anytime Stitched Rectangles, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Stitched Stars (My Favorite Things), Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all of the beautiful cards the design team has created!  We then hope you'll join our challenge with your own fabulous creation!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #172

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm all messed up with my days because we ended up having a snow day on Monday!  The boys loved being home and being able to stay in their PJ's and play outside in the snow with the neighbours and their dog!  The boys had a blast!  It was nice to be able to have a nice day of relaxing and playing!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  The fabulous Linda Callahan brings us this week's beauty!   Linda makes such amazing cards!  Head over to her blog and check them out!

Now, that giant heart is very much like giant circle to me.  Maybe even worse!  I don't know why I have trouble with shapes.  I think the main reason this sketch really challenged me was because was was determined to make my husband's birthday card with it (which was my first mistake).  Once I gave up the notion that this would be his birthday card, it all came together a lot easier.  If you get frustrated making cards, don't worry, you're not alone!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Stamps: I Like You, Sending You (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Basic Black, Stazon
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Sequins, Twine, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Anytime Tags Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you get the chance to head to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!

Have a fabulous week!

CAS(E) This Donut!

Hello!
Happy Wednesday again!  I should have gotten my act together yesterday and gotten this post up!  It completely slipped my mind.  I hope you're having a great day!  It is a beautiful, sunny, warmish day in Southern Ontario.  The temperature is perfect for January!  We're heading into another cold snap so we will enjoy the sun and the warmth today!

I love the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!  It was so fun and I needed another Valentine's Day card!  I really should be making my husband a birthday card since that happens first but I was in a Valentine's Day kind of mood!

I totally love the the Donut You Know stamp set and Confetti Cut from Reverse Confetti!  It is super cute and worked perfectly for the card I wanted to make!  I decided using Red Glimmer paper for the hearts would work - but the hearts were a little harder to stick on than I had anticipated.

If you wonder why the donut looks a little funny - it's just Glassy Glaze Enamel!  I wanted my donut to have an authentic glazed look.  The glaze didn't work as well over the glimmer paper as it has in the past using regular card stock or DSP for the "sprinkles"!  Yes, that is another stitched rectangle you see.  Sorry - I love them.  I can't stop using them!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: Donut you Know (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Donut Confetti Cuts, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals, Glassy Glaze Enamel

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #171

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a great week!  We are battling a cold at our house.  So far, just the boys have been down for the count and I would love to leave it that way!  Poor little Jacob is just so tired at night he can barely keep his eyes open!  Thankfully both boys are able to sleep very well at night!

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is the talented Rita Wright!  You need to head over to her blog in a bit and check out the beautiful cards she creates - and don't forget that absolute sweetheart of a little girl she has!
Now, this sketch has one GIANT circle on it.  By now, most people know how I feel about circles!  This circle was also too huge to be accommodated by my new Donut die from Reverse Confetti!  I must admit that this one stumped me for a while.  I tried to make a tag to be like Jen Mitchell and then tried some flowers to be like Narelle Farrugia but it just didn't work!

I remembered that I had my Daisy Die from Stampin Up and thought I would put it to work!  I may have tried a pink one instead of a white one but it just didn't look right!  I tried a million combinations of paper before I found one that worked.  Cards sometimes do not come together in 10 minutes like I'd like!   If you ever find that please know, you're not alone!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: In A Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Big Daisy Die, Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lil' Inkers), Vellum, Basic Rhinestones,  Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created!  We can't wait to see what you will come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!
