Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #462

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?  I put up my Christmas village on the weekend.  It's a long, tedious process and I tend to do it early so that I can get it done and enjoy it.  The rest of the decorations will need to wait until at least next weekend.  I can't have my tree up that long without going crazy!!  Plus I kinda think Sprite the cat will undecorated the tree this year.  She's a toad!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is the world famous fussy cutter Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle's cards are always gorgeous!  Head on over to her blog to check them out!

So, I stared at this sketch for a while.  A long while.  I tried one thing and then another and didn't feel inspired.  I figured it was just because I was tired.  Anyhow, I knew I needed to make it Christmassy because I'm still behind on my Christmas cards so I tried pine trees first and when they wouldn't work I went with ornaments.

I realized after I stuck the ornaments on and glued on the sequins that I probably should have embossed the background but it was late and I was tired and so the card is how it is! I'm keeping it simple today people!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver Foil

Stamps: Christmas Gleaming

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Ornament Gleaming Punch Pack, Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards there!  Honestly, I am pretty sure this is the best Design Team ever!  Okay, so it's the only one I've ever been on, but I'm pretty sure it's the best one!

We can't wait to see what you create this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #452

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  My oldest starts high school today.  I can't believe it.  How is that even possible?  Wasn't he just starting JK yesterday? I remember his first day like it was just yesterday and here we are 10 years later!  My youngest has one day of school this week so he's enjoying a few more golf games before school starts up!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is our colour pairing queen, Amy O'Neill!   Head over to Amy's blog if you want to see some incredible cards.  She can mix and match colours, patterns and embellishments like no one else!  Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

At first those two leaves threw me.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.  I love fall cards and I'm not sure why I didn't pull out some fall'ish stuff but I also saw some holly leaves and berries and thought that they would work!

My Mossy Meadow stampin' blend is on it's last legs and I wasn't sure it would last to colour the holly leaves but it did!  Yay!  I decided to add a stitched border and another stitched label for my sentiment and call it a day!  Of course I still had to add some sequins because...well, why not?!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Mossy Meadow

Stamps: Christmas Gleaming

Ink: Versamark, Memento Black

Other: Sweetly Stitched Dies, Stitched Rectangular Frames, Stampin Blends (Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler), Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Copper Embossing Folder, Copper Sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by today! The Design Team has created some amazing cards so you need to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check them out!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #411

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  How's your week starting?  Our week started with a pile of SNOW!  I must say I am not impressed.  We normally don't get this much snow until after Christmas down in Southern Ontario.  I hate snow.  Yes, I'm Canadian, born and raised but I really don't like snow or cold.  I guess I also don't like the thoughts of having 6 more months of winter.  My family however is over the moon with the snow!  Strange lot they are!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the incredible Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards are always amazing!  I love her creativity.  Head over to her blog and check out her beautiful creations!

Okay so I'm sure you can guess how many times I had to make this card before I made one I liked!  I'm still not totally impressed with the finished product!  I do need a few more Christmas cards so I'm trying to get those done.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Gray Granite, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
DSP: Festive Farmhouse
Stamps: Christmas Gleaming, Bright Hopes
Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Ornament Gleaming Punch Pack, Hammered Metal Embossing Folder, Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will totally be inspired to join in our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #408

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  I'm just looking out the window at my maple tree that is a blazing red!  It's so glorious!  I wish they could stay this colour all year!  Don't get me wrong, I like green trees but the red just stand out so nicely (and it's almost one of my favourite colours!).

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the amazing Jennifer Timko!  Jen is our resident pilot and colour artist!  I am always in awe with the gorgeous cards and projects she creates!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I kinda know what I wanted my card to look like when I started making it.  Thankfully.  Now, looking at the picture I wish I had matted the DSP with some copper foil but I didn't and there's not much I can do about it now!!  I love this DSP from the Brightly Gleaning Specialty DSP pack.  All that copper foil makes my heart happy!  I paired with some Night of Navy cardstock and the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder and voila!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Copper Foil
DSP: Brightly Gleaning Specialty
Stamps: Christmas Gleaning
Ink: Night of Navy
Other: Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has made.  You definitely will be thankful you did!  They are incredible!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #405

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm so sorry that this post is late coming to you!  Normally I do my posts Tuesday evening but we were without power last night, for a LONG time and I wasn't able to get on the internet!  Anyhow, power is back, all is well and I need to get this post done!!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Judy Rozema!  Judy's cards are just gorgeous!  I love her design style!  It's so fun!  Head over to her blog to check it out!!!

I love the new ornaments in the Christmas Gleaming stamp set.  They are so fun to work with and I knew they would work perfectly with this sketch.  I actually made several cards with them!  I opted for some copper embossing powder in the second and third cards!  I love that powder!!  I was trying to figure out how many different cards I could make with this stamp set!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Whisper White
Stamps: Christmas Gleaming
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack, Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for you!  We can't wait to see what you create with the sketch!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #403

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I trust you're having a great week so far!  Some of you know I have a bit of an obsession with pumpkins!  Like a total love for them!  I could buy hundreds!  I don't.  I limit myself to one or two a year!  I've already bought one this year and I just ordered a tiny little one from a friend who is going to knit it for me!  Anyhow, my pumpkins made their annual appearance yesterday and I was so excited about it.  However, when Jacob (our 11 year old) came home from school he promptly saw the pumpkins, rolled his eyes and told me I just ruined our house with pumpkins.  That child.  Needless to say I was slightly crushed!!!

Anyhow, being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the creative Narelle Farrugia!  Narella is our resident Aussie and fussy cutter!  I am always amazed at the things she cuts out and she seriously must have the patience of a saint!

I kinda knew what I wanted to do for this card but it took me a few times to get it to work!  I also had to reverse the sketch because the holly and berries didn't quite look right on the other side.  They looked upside down or something.  Regardless, I switched it up a little!

I threw some ribbon in there from the Come To Gather ribbon pack.  I sure love kraft coloured ribbon and it seemed to work for this card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Christmas Gleaming
Ink: Basic Black, Memento Black
Other: Come to Gather Ribbon, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Stampin' Blends, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  They are definitely inspiring!

Have an amazing day!
