Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #523

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Guys, we're halfway through February already!  How did that happen?  We're heading into a long weekend here in Canada and my boys are off next week for winter break.  I'm looking forward to a break from the craziness and hopefully we're able to do a few exciting things next week!

We've got a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  I am so honoured to be this week's hostess!  I always struggle with sketch design!  I'm a very linear thinker so I find coming up with things that are different a challenge!  Anyhow, I hope you will decide to join in our challenge this week!

So this isn't my first card.  I know it's shocking right?  My first card was actually a Valentine for my husband but I'm not sure I like it.  I think he did though.  I also forgot to take a picture before I gave it to him and he's been locked in his office and I couldn't grab it.  Maybe I'll learn my lesson!

I felt the urge to create another flower card but my new flower dies were all too bit and the tulips seemed a bit too small so I grabbed some poppies instead!  Not sure I've ever seen a yellow poppy but we'll use our imaginations won't we?!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Black Glimmer
Stamps: Little Birthday Notes (MFT)
Ink: Versafine Black
Other: Poppy Moments Dies, Stitched Frame, Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!  I know you'll be inspired when you see the cards the other ladies on our team have created!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches #522

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to the week!  We've had some very non winter weather here.  It's been super warm - or at least warmer than I'm used to!  It's been amazing for getting outside!  We've been able to get lots of fresh air!  More than we ever have in winter before!

We've got a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches from our favourite Colorado hostess, Kim Singdahlsen!!! Kim's cards are so pretty!  I always love what she creates!  Please head over to her blog and check them out!

I might have taken a slightly loose interpretation of the sketch!  Well...I didn't think it was going to be a loose interpretation until I actually finished the card and realized that the leaves didn't quite look like the strip in the back the way I wanted them to.   I can't get enough of these Lovely Layers flowers from Honey Bee Stamps!  I guess I just find the flowers so cheery!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Black Glimmer, Silver
Stamps: Bitty Buzzwords (Honey Bee Stamps)
Ink: Basic Black, Smoky Slate
Other: Dainty Diamonds Textured Embossing Folder, Lovely Layers Anemone Buzz Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps),  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Elegant Sequin Mix,Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out some amazing cards!

We hope you'll join in our challenge this week!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #521

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I'm so confused with what day it is because my boys had a PA Day (Day off school) on Monday and I keep thinking we're a day behind!  My oldest started a new semester and is super excited to have Military Studies as a course!  He will love it!  My youngest will be sewing a pair of pyjamas at school!  They have some pretty cool course choices here in Alberta!

Anyhow, we have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess is the witty Linda Callahan!  Linda creates gorgeous cards and keeps us in stitches!  Head over to her blog and check out her beautiful creations!

So this sketch threw me for a while and in the end I apparently couldn't follow it very well!  Seriously.  My tulip is a little too high.  Unfortunately, it's not moving!  I do love a springy looking tulip and needed a little spot of spring on this cold, snowy winter day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush, Vellum
DSP: Sunshine and Rainbows 6X6 pack
Stamps: Bitty Buzzwords (Honey Bee Stamps)
Ink: Versamark, Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Bitty Buzzwords Honey Cuts, Tulips Dies, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Subtle Shimmer Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog!  You'll find a beautiful array of cards to inspire you!  We sure hope you'll join in our challenge this week.

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #519

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We're back in a bit of a deep freeze for two days and then it's supposed to warm up again.  The weather here in the Calgary area is a bit weird.  Ups and downs.  It was +11 degrees on Monday and -15 degrees on Tuesday.  Thankfully only one of us had a headache.  The weather has been a little crazy all over this week.  I hope wherever you are, you are safe and warm!

We've got a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the only member of our team whom I've actually met in person - Jen Timko!  Jen is an uber talented card maker!   Please head over to her blog and drool over her cards!

So normally I stare at the sketches for a while and try and figure out what I'll do but this one was different.  I already had this bunch of hydrangea sitting on my desk.  I had wanted to make a card with them but hadn't gotten around to it.  I knew I could put them on a square and they would fit this sketch perfectly!  These flower dies from Honey Bee Stamps are so gorgeous and are such fun to play with!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Bashful Blue (maybe?), Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Lucky Limeade, Vellum
Stamps: Bitty Buzzwords (Honey Bee Stamps)
Ink: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green
Other: Lovely Layers Hydrangea Honeycuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Bitty Buzzwords Honeycuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Blending Brushes, Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  The Design Team has created some gorgeous cards that will inspire you!

Hello!
Welcome to Wednesday!  We are FINALLY out of the polar vortex and enjoying some temperatures that are unseasonably warm!  I will take it!  Those crazy cold temperatures are insane!!  The warmer weather will make skiing a little more enjoyable!  Though we might have invested in electric socks and mitts!  Best investment ever!!  I have chronically cold feet and hands so having them warm is amazing!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Judy Rozema!  Judy's cards are always super cute and the sketch she has for us is fabulous!  Please head over to her blog to check them out!

This sketch is perfect for anything!  I just love it!  It works perfectly for the new flower dies I got for Christmas!  I just love using them!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #517

Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas season and enjoyed some time with family and friends!  I also hope the new year has started well!  We're in a deep freeze here in Alberta!  It's absolutely freezing.  These temperatures aren't foreign to me but I haven't experienced them in years!  It's supposed to warm up on the weekend and let me tell you I'm counting the days!

We have our first new sketch of 2022 at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Amy O'Neill!  Amy helps me branch out and try new colour combinations!  She's an inspiration!  Please head on over to her blog and check out her gorgeous creations!

I struggled with this card.  I have a very linear way of thinking so these abstractly placed squares threw me!  As you can tell from my card, I just couldn't go abstract!  I tried, oh how I tried!  I wanted to try out the new Tulip Dies from Stampin Up!  They're so sweet!  I definitely need to play with them more!  They will be perfect for spring and help with the winter blues!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Pear Pizazz, Basic White
Other: Tulip Dies, Stitched Squares (Lil Inkers), Iridescent Rhinestones, Dainty Diamonds Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog!  The Design Team has created some beautiful cards to inspire you!

Have an amazing day!
