Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #234

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  It's hard to believe that this coming weekend is May!  How is that even possible?!  Hopefully with the start of May comes the start of some warmer temperatures!  We haven't had very nice weather at all this week and maybe all these April showers will bring some May flowers!!!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Jennifer Timko!  Jen and I have had the privilege of meeting (twice!) and she is one of the loveliest people you could ever spend time with!

Jen has such a great sketch for us this week!  I know you'll find it super versatile and there are so many ways to create amazing cards with this beauty!

We haven't had much sunshine around here lately so I wanted to create a card with the Stampin' Up Sunburst Die because you can never have too much sunshine!  I added a strip of DSP, mounted my sentiment on a gold circle (can't have too much gold either) and added a sentiment on vellum.  It may sound like the card went together quickly but trust me, it was trial and error. What colour should the background be, what DSP to use, what colour ink...I'm so indecisive in some areas!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Gold
DSP:  Cherry on Top DSP Stack
Stamps: Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Versamark Black
Other: Sunburst Thinlit, Circle Punches, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!  Those girls amaze me with their creativity!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #233

Hello!
Happy Wednesday friends!  I hope you're having a great week!  We had some amazing weather this past weekend!  It was so fun to get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!  I think the kids were aiming to see how many different sports they could play outside in one day!  We had hockey, basketball, scooter, bikes and golf going!  They were so tired when they finally came in!  It was perfect!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing, Artisan Design Team member Amy O'Neill!  Amy creates the most beautiful cards.  She has a way with colour and embellishments!

Okay, so you can see the circle hiding in there right?!  I knew that I'd have to dig deep on this one!  I love the Circle Scribbles stamps by My Favourite Things.  I decided to colour some flowers up  with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers.  They are so fun and I do have fun with them!  I decided to use a strip of vellum across the back rather than trying to pick a colour.   I wanted to keep the background simple so the flowers would really and out!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Watercolour paper
Paper: Vellum
Stamps: LJD Circle Scribbles, LJD Blissful Butterflies (Both My Favourite Things)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Circle Scribbles Die-namics, Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers,  Double Stitched Squares (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has come up with!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #232

 Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I haven't had as much time in my craft room over the last few weeks/months as I would like.  Unfortunately I am not one of those people who can go and create cards when there is stuff to do in the house and my kids are still too young to do a lot of things on their own.  I'm hoping to spend a bit of time in my craft room this weekend.  We are done hockey for the season so maybe, just maybe I'll get to enjoy a little crafting time!!!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our fabulous hostess is the one and only Narelle Farrugia.  Don't even get me started on Narelle's amazing layers and fussy cut flowers!  So pretty!  Narelle's sketch is so versatile this week.  It can be turned into so many different things!
I'll be honest.  I don't like my card.  I'm really disappointed in how it turned out and that I couldn't turn it into what I envisioned in my mind!  Alas, what can you do?!

I used the tea cup from the Reverse Confetti "Be a Barista" stamp set.  I used my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour it.  The tea turned out better than I had hoped which is sadly the only part of the card I liked.  I tried all different colour combinations but nothing really worked.  This is the one I went with.  I was going to try and change it up yesterday but then I had to go into the school for a follow up to something I had been working on and there went the day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Watercolour paper
Stamps: Be a Barista (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black, Versamark
Other: Be A Barista Confetti Cuts, Falling Snow Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!  Head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog for some inspiration!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #231

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're week has started out well!  We have had a good start to the week. The boys have a PA Day on Friday so they get the day off school.  I don't quite know what we'll be doing but I'll have to think of something exciting!  I'm sure running around doing grocery shopping won't quite fit the bill!  I can't see why not?!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Karren Johnson!  Karren is such a creative card maker!  I totally love the fun cards she makes!

I needed a sympathy card this week.  I love the Field Flowers stamp set for sympathy cards. I actually love it for any cards.  I wish it hadn't retired!  I used a combination of Sahara Sand and Early Espresso to create the flowers.  I used some scraps I had to create the end pieces. There is no science to the end measurements.  I kinda just cut them and glued them together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
DSP: I can't remember where this is from...It's SU though!
Stamps: Field Flowers, Sentiment Flags (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Old Olive
Other: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Sentiment Flag Die, Dimesionals

Thanks again for stopping in today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created!  We can't wait to see what you'll create for our challenge!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #230

Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week and had a lovely Easter weekend!  We had an extra long Easter weekend.  The kids finally got the "Snow Day" they'd been hoping for.  Of course it was an ice day but they still got an extra day at home!  The first day off this year due to weather and it came late in March.  Go figure!

Today is Wednesday and we have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I am blessed enough to be this week's hostess!  I always find coming up with a sketch challenging!  It's hard to find a sketch that will appeal to everyone so sometimes you just come up with something and hope for the best!

I wasn't actually sure what I would want to do with this sketch!  I had a few ideas but of course none of them panned out!  I then saw this sweet banner die from Reverse Confetti and realized I hadn't used it yet and wanted to give it a whirl.  I had a hard time finding a sentiment that would work but found one in the set that came with the Watercolour Wishes kit!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Brights DSP Stack
Stamps: Watercolour Wishes (sentiment set)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Double Scalloped Garland Confetti Cuts, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll take the time to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #229

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We had a wonderful March break visiting my parents!  The boys are already planning ahead to their summer vacation and what fun they're going to have!  Being back in routine is nice but man it's exhausting!!!  I sure to miss the relaxation of March break!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our fabulous hostess is the amazing Cindy Hall!  Cindy's cards are just beautiful!  She comes up with the neatest things!  Did you see her flower last week?  So cool!  Go and check it out!

Okay, so the squares...you may see them as diamonds.  I see them as circles with corners remember.  These squares challenged me.  But then I saw the stamp set I "borrowed" from my mom and decided that I would colour up some bees.  You see when I was visiting my mom I bought myself a little March Break present - some Chameleon Pens!  I am not great at colouring but I wanted to give these pens a try.  I couldn't believe I found them where my mom lives!  Anyhow, they are super fun to use and are easier for me than having to buy a whole ton of copics!  What you can't see from this picture is that the black stripe is embossed using the honeycomb embossing folder!

I love these cute little bees from Reverse Confetti!  They remind me of spring which is hopefully right around the corner!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: The Buzz (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Stitched Squares, The Buzz Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Chameleon Pens, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and check out the Design Team's beautiful cards!  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #228

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  It's March break here in Ontario and we are currently enjoying a relaxing week with my mom and dad!  The boys are in Grannie and Papa heaven!  There is a lot of driveway hockey (when it's not raining) and some intense games of Monopoly going on here!  I'm so thankful for a Papa who loves hanging out with his boys!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of Kim Singdahlsen.  Kim is amazing.  I love Kim's creativity and she is one of the leading enablers on our team!

I knew right away that I wanted to use the Dot Spots stamp set from PTI when I saw this sketch.  No, this giant circle didn't terrify me at all.  Maybe because it's not an entire circle!!!  I stamped the circle using Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink.  I used some Dazzling Diamonds to add a little sparkle!  We all need a little sparkle in our lives!  Now, I put my sentiment in the wrong spot.  I feel really badly about this.  I noticed it just before I left to visit my mom and dad and didn't have time to change it!  Thankfully I'm on the most forgiving Design Team and the girls are letting me stay!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Dot Spot (PTI), In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay
Other: Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you will head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the fabulous cards the design team has come up with!  You'll be glad you did!

Have a fabulous day!
