Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #412

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  Can you believe we're more than halfway through November?  Are you ready for Christmas?  I am totally not ready at all.  I've purchased some gifts but I'm nowhere near ready to go.  I have never felt this far behind.  Just trying to take one day at a time!!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  I have the privilege of being this week's hostess.  I always worry that I'll make a sketch that no one likes or wants to participate with so I try and design ones that are broad and can be interpreted in different ways!

I am behind on Christmas cards (of course!) so I decided I needed a sketch that could incorporate Christmas!  I must admit though that this is not he first card.  I know, you're totally not shocked by that confession!!  I made my card and wasn't totally satisfied.  I was looking at my Christmas stamp sets and saw this star and knew it would work perfectly!

Supples:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: Bright and Beautiful,  Festival of Trees
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Sequins (Taylored Expressions), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely be inspired!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #366

Hello Everyone!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  How's that Christmas shopping coming along?!  I'm happy to report that our tree is still standing.  Sprite has removed a few decorations.  She actually removes them with her teeth and then carries them around like she's a dog. She's more intrigued with my banana leaf nativity scene than the tree though.  I'm pretty sure one of the wisemen is going to bite the dust.  She has also knocked over a nutcracker.  And here I thought the Elf on the Shelf was naughty.

Okay, we have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the incredibly talented Cecile Ribon!  Cecile's cards are beautiful and always contain the most amazing die cuts and elements!  Please head over to her blog and check them out!

Okay so I'm a little behind on the Christmas cards.  Actually, I don't know if that's true or not.  I have to get everything ready tomorrow.  I'm almost done.  I have to admit that not everyone on my Christmas card list gets a handmade card anymore.  Don't get me wrong, I'd love to send handmade cards to everyone but I just can't.  It's not possible anymore.

Anyhow, I saw the tree on Cecile's sketch and knew that my Festival of Trees stamp from Stampin' Up would work perfectly.  I actually had to make this card rather quickly so I embossed a tree with silver embossing powder (I couldn't get a great picture) and put it all together.  That subtle texture embossing folder may be one of my new favourite toys! I threw on some sequins and called it a day!

We have some exciting news this week as well!!!  Our Freshly Made Sketches Team is doing a Design Team Call!!!  We would love for you to join our team!!!  We have a few prerequisites  (not many at all) so head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check those out - and you can check out the Design Team's gorgeous cards in the process as well!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #355

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  It's been a gorgeous week here so far.  The humidity is decreasing a little bit and I am soaking in the last days of summer.  Don't get me wrong, fall is my favourite season but I do love the warmth and simplicity of summer!  Flip flops, sunglasses and away you go!!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards are always so amazing!  She has the most incredible stamps, dies and colouring tools! I'm always excited to see what she's created!  Head over to her blog and check it out!

I loved Kim's sketch and since I was still in the Christmas card making spirit, I decided to give another one a whirl.  I used the now retired Festival of Trees for this card.  I just love this set and love that there's a punch to coordinate with them.  I opted for a black, white and red theme!  Not sure why but it just seemed to be what I liked that day!!  The one tree looked a little sad so I added some sequins to him!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Foil
Stamps: Festival of Trees
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Softly Falling TIEF, Tree punch, Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for you.  You won't be disappointed!!

Have a fabulous day!

Fusion Christmas

Hello!
I can't believe that I am able to actually post a card on a Sunday!  I know - shocking!  I made this card a long time ago and took a picture of it the same day then realized when I downloaded the picture that one of the jewels had fallen off of the snowflake!  Took me a while to get around to jewel correction!

We had a great weekend celebration Jacob's 6th birthday with his friends.  He had a blast.  There is a picture at the bottom of the page of him with his Triceratops ice cream cake.  It was a hit and the leftovers are pretty stellar as well!

So, I made this card for the Fusion card challenge!  I was pretty pumped when I first looked at the challenge and came up with this card.  Then I realized after a few Fusion blog posts that the colour of the car was pink not red (I guess I should have read the title of their challenge!).  So, my shiny pink is a beautiful, bright, shiny red!

Christmas is fast approaching and I love the Festive Flurry stamp set and coordinating dies.  You may see another card this week that also uses that set!  I love snowflakes though I like paper ones far more than real ones!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver, Red Glimmer
DSP: All is Calm Specialty DSP
Stamps: Festive Flurry, Festival of Trees (Sentiment)
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Silver Embossing Powder, Festive Flurry Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I hope you've had a great weekend!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #152

Hello!
I hope you're having a great week so far!  The boys had their first day of school today!  I can't believe we're dealing with a little boy in Grade 3 and my baby in Grade 1!  How does that happen?  Time has sure flown by!  They both had a great first day.  they both love their teachers and can't wait to go back tomorrow!

Today being Wednesday means we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's beauty comes courtesy of the talented Cindy Hall!  Cindy creates the most beautiful cards and I love checking out her blog!  We have some great news at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our August guest designer Kim Singdahlsen will be joining us on a permanent basis!  We're so glad she's decided to join our crazy crew!

I couldn't help making a Christmas card! I don't know why!  I decided to use my new Festival of Trees stamp set.  I tried different colours for the trees first and then decided to try embossing them on vellum with silver embossing powder.  I seemed to like that look the best.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Silver
DSP: All is Calm Specialty DSP
Stamps: Festival of Trees, Wondrous Wreath (Sentiment)
Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Sequins, Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

I wanted to share a few pictures of our trip away!  We had such a great vacation!  I can't wait to go back!  The top picture is of the boys at the Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport.  They both wanted to pose with one of their favourite planes - a Corsair!  The next picture is of the Space Shuttle Discovery!  Can you believe it? We saw a real space shuttle!!!  It was amazing!  If you haven't been to this museum you NEED to check it out!  You won't be disappointed!  The last picture is of my monkeys running in the ocean - it was the first time they'd dipped their feet in an ocean!  They loved it!  I loved it!

Thanks again so much for stopping by today!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing creations the design team has come up with!

I hope you have a fabulous day!
