Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #105

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  The week is flying by!  I'm already looking forward to the weekend!  We don't really have a lot planned but that's just the way I like it!  Sometimes those are the best kind of weekends.

Today brings us a new and fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This weeks sketch is courtesy of the talented Allisa Chilton!

I really like this week's sketch!  It's super versatile and I had a lot of fun creating this card!  I know it's made using retired stamps but I still do love to use my retired products!

I hauled out the Elements of Style for this one!  I do love a good hummingbird!  I used the Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder to create the background and then added some pearls to the flowers for an added touch.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Elements of Style, Four You
Ink: Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Basic Pearls, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous week!
Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the fabulous cards the design team has come up with!  They are so amazing this week!

Freshly Made Sympathy

 Hello!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We had a great weekend here and we're looking forward to a busy week.  A dear friend of mine's husband lost his grandmother this week and I wanted to send a card to let them know that we are thinking of and praying for them.

I decided to use the Freshly Made Sketches card this week for my starting point.  I must say this card took several attempts...I tried my hardest to use a circle for the centre but alas...I decided a rectangle fit better with the card.

Tomorrow I will be back with a baby card for another dear friend!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Elements of Style, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Word Window Punch, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals

Fresh Elements

 Hello!
It's almost the weekend!  I'm rather excited!  I've been MIA most of this week.  My husband was away, my youngest decided that napping wasn't for him and by the time they were in bed at night, I was too tired to even think!

This week's sketch challenge on Freshly Made Sketches was a bit more of a challenge.  I actually made two cards for it but the first one I did for a customer and forgot to take a picture before I packaged it up to mail out!

It's hard to see in the picture but I used clear embossing powder on the stamped image just to make it stand out a bit more.  I also have embossed the black strip of cardstock using the Finale Press Embossing Folder.  THe edging on the vanilla cardstock is done using the new Edgelits die from the Occasions Mini Catalogue.  I am a texture person and tend to go overboard!

I've been lacking inspiration the last few days but hopefully it will start to pick up as the weekend draws closer!

I will be back tomorrow with another card.  I tackled the CAS challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week.

Thanks for stopping by!
